Parking and ZTL near Via Strazzacappe and Via Mascarella

Via Strazzacappe and Via Mascarella are inside Bologna's historic centre, which is largely a camera-controlled limited traffic zone (ZTL). Here is where to leave the car and what to know to avoid fines.
The historic-centre ZTL
- Access to the ZTL is electronically monitored: do not drive in without authorisation, not even to drop off luggage.
- Some central areas have stricter rules, such as the pedestrian "T" zone (Via Rizzoli, Via Ugo Bassi, Via dell'Indipendenza) at weekends and on public holidays.
- The speed limit in most of the city is 30 km/h.
- Times and rules can change: always check the City of Bologna website.
Important: we cannot register guests' number plates for ZTL access. Please use one of the car parks below and walk to the property.
Parking near La Casa di Kro (Via Strazzacappe)
- OK Garage, Via Avesella 1: paid car park right below the apartment.
- Riva Reno car park (entrance at Via del Rondone / Via Azzo Gardino): covered multi-storey public car park with over 500 spaces, open 24/7, max height 2 m, about 300 metres from the apartment.
- Piazza VIII Agosto car park: paid underground car park about 500 metres away.
Parking near Favola B&B (Via Mascarella)
- Piazza VIII Agosto car park: paid underground car park, about 750 metres on foot. This is the car park we recommend for Favola.
- Along the ring road near Porta Mascarella there are pay-and-display spaces outside the ZTL; Favola is a few minutes' walk from there.
Other options
- Park-and-ride car parks outside the centre are cheaper and connected by bus.
- For short stays it often pays to leave the car and walk: our properties are 10–15 minutes from the station, Piazza Maggiore and the Two Towers.
