From Bologna Centrale station to Favola B&B and La Casa di Kro

Both our properties are walkable from Bologna Centrale: 10 minutes to La Casa di Kro and about 14 minutes to Favola B&B. Here is how, with taxi and bus alternatives and the airport link.

Arriving by train at Bologna Centrale

Regional and Intercity trains arrive at the surface platforms, with the main exit on Piazza delle Medaglie d'Oro, facing the ring road. High-speed trains (Frecce and Italo) arrive at the underground AV platforms: allow 5–10 extra minutes for escalators and lifts before you are out on the street. For our properties use the main exit on Piazza delle Medaglie d'Oro.

From the station to La Casa di Kro (800 m, about 10 minutes)

  1. Leave by the main entrance on Piazza delle Medaglie d'Oro and cross the ring road at the pedestrian lights.
  2. Head south into the historic centre, in the area between Via Marconi and Via dell'Indipendenza.
  3. After about 800 metres you reach Via Strazzacappe 6, a quiet street near the Montagnola park and MAMbo.

The route is short and flat, fine with wheeled luggage. Open the walking route in Google Maps.

From the station to Favola B&B (1.1 km, about 14 minutes)

  1. Exit onto Piazza delle Medaglie d'Oro and follow the ring road east (towards Porta Galliera and Porta Mascarella).
  2. At Porta Mascarella, enter the historic centre along Via Mascarella.
  3. Number 84 is about 200 metres from the gate, on the same street as some historic trattorias.

Open the walking route in Google Maps. With heavy luggage or in heavy rain a taxi takes just a few minutes.

Taxis and buses

The taxi rank is at the main exit on Piazza delle Medaglie d'Oro. In Bologna taxis cannot be hailed in the street: take one from a rank or book (CO.TA.BO. +39 051 372727, C.A.T. +39 051 4590, or via app). For TPER city buses, plan your route and buy tickets with the official Roger app.

From G. Marconi Airport

The easiest option is the Marconi Express monorail, which links the airport to the Central Station in a few minutes; then walk as described above. A taxi from the airport to the centre usually takes 15–20 minutes, traffic permitting. A paid airport shuttle can be booked in advance for Favola B&B. Check up-to-date times and fares on the airport website before you travel.
